Cities & schools

Below is an overview of the available cities and the schools therein which are part of the Education & Culture Ambassador program. Usually, these are smaller cities (according to the Chinese definition...) in the Zhejiang province. The cities themselves are easy to reach using the Chinese high-speed railway system, with international airports available in both Hangzhou and Shanghai.

Lishui

Lishui, located in the southwest of Zhejiang province, includes one district, one city and seven counties, covering an area of 17,300 square kilometers, with a total population of 2,600,000.

Within China, Lishui is well known as a city with a long history and a beautiful environment. It features many mountain ranges and peaks and one of the largest rivers in Zhejiang province. There are many natural reserves to visit, such as Xiandu National Park or the Fengyangshan-Baishanzu National Resort. If you're more interested in it's history, you can visit the Shishi Temple or Yangqing Temple.

With the high-speed railway in Lishui one can reach the provinvial capital Hangzhou in 1.5 hours, Wenzhou in half an hour, and one can reach the biggest city in the world, Shanghai, in about 2,5 hours.

Quzhou

Quzhou city is situated in the west of Zhejiang Province and at the upper reach of the Qianjiang River, adjoining Fujian , Jiangxi and Anhui provinces. Quzhou covers 8837 square kilometers and has a population of 2,490,000 (Including the subordinate cities and counties).

With the high-speed railway in Quzhou one can reach the provincial capital Hangzhou in about 1.5 hours and Shanghai in about 2.5 hours.

Quzhou is a city with a long history, numerous natural reserves and many mountains and peaks. One of the typical local natural reserves is the Sanqu stone forest, formed over 500 million years ago and famous for it's glass bridge. Another local curiosity are the mysterious Longyou caves; artificial caverns built over 2000 years ago only to be rediscovered in 1992. And of course Jiangliang and Lankeshan mountains along with Qiantang river.
